Targeting Archery Club

Welcome to Targeting Archery Club which was founded in 2017 by Karen Dales, following the success of her coaching business, Targeting Archery (est. 2015). Many beginners wanted somewhere local to continue their archery journey, so the club was born – and has been welcoming archers ever since.

We’re proud to be an inclusive club that welcomes everyone — from complete beginners to experienced archers, including disabled and visually impaired archers. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where everyone can enjoy the sport, develop their skills, and be part of a friendly, accessible community.

Outdoor Venue

Our outdoor range is located behind St. Philip’s Church, Scholes, overlooking beautiful farmland.

Standard club shoots up to 60 yards

Archery GB approved to shoot up to 100 yards / 90m when set up accordingly

Indoor Venue

As of October 2020 we use the main hall of St. Luke's Community Centre, Swarcliffe in Leeds. This hall is both longer and wider than the Church hall at St. Philip's that we used to use, which expands our indoor archery experience.

However we occasionally still use the Church Hall at St. Philip's for small events where the shorter size of hall works well.

This is a great venue for coaching as you don't have to walk as far to collect your arrows. St Philips church Hall our smaller venue where it all started.

Club Shooting Sessions

During the summer months we shoot outdoors (weather permitting) at St. Philip's from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
During the winter months the club shoots indoors on Thursday evenings at St. Luke's from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
All year round we shoot outdoors on Saturday mornings at St. Philip's from 9:30am to 12:30pm, weather permitting.

Running the club

The club is run by various members and non-members who freely give up their time to keep the club sessions, various school, charity and other events we attend, running as smoothly as possible.
